Sloan’s Christmas Tree Village and U-Cut

Christmas Tree Tours

When We're Open:

We are pleased to offer tours of Sloan's Christmas Tree Village just prior to and during our Christmas season.  The tour season is officially open from November 27 to December 23 this year but if you wish to come sooner, please enquire about doing so with the understanding that a few of the activities may not be available.

Target Ages:

The tour is geared to students in Kindergarten through to grade 3, but all grades are welcome.  The educational portion meets some of the requirements found in the Science and Technology threads of the Ontario Curriculum.

What We Offer:

The tour includes the following activities:

  • Field tour and talk about Christmas trees
  • Train ride
  • Three-Tower Tree House
  • Petting Zoo
  • Cedar and Straw Bale Mazes
  • Sand Mountain
  • Broom Ball
  • Campfires for lunch

Cost:

The cost of the tour is $7.00 (plus $0.35 GST) per student with a minimum cost of $150.00.

Lunchtime:

Fires will be lit in time for students to have lunch.   If possible, we recommend bringing hot dogs for roasting over the fire as students really enjoy this. However, we do not provide roasting sticks.   If you choose not to do this, the fires will be lit for your enjoyment nonetheless.

A Free Tree:

One free tree is given to the school.   You may choose between a small potted tree or a cut Christmas tree.

Parent Supervision:

Please ensure that there is one adult supervisor per five students.   Parents need to remember to dress warmly.

Forms for Parents and Bus Drivers:

Attached to this site is a letter directed to parents explaining the nature of the tour. Also attached is an instructional letter directed to bus drivers that includes a map.   You need the Adobe Reader to read these letters.   Please do not forget to print them.
