Sloan’s Christmas Tree Village and U-Cut

How We Operate

At Sloan's Christmas Tree Village we recognize that our customers are coming from many different places, both near and far, and everyone wants something different out of their experience.   Some customers simply want to cut a tree and leave. Others want a tree, but also want to spend time outside at a campfire or playing in the forest.   With this in mind, we have organized our farm in such a way as to meet as many of these different expectations as possible.   Please feel free to contact us if anything is unclear and please take note of the special notices.

Weekend Operating Procedures

During the weekends we have two sites available from which you can cut down your own Christmas tree.   These two sites are called Village 1 and Village 2.   Both sites are not the same: they do not provide the same products and services and they do not operate the same way. Village 1 is for customers who want a Christmas tree and a day of fun with activities or customers who just want a day of fun activities.   Village 2 is for customers who want a Christmas tree and perhaps a campfire.   Below is a simple breakdown of what your options are.   Please note that you cannot walk between these two locations.   This year, 2008, Village 2 is off of Fairfield Line.   There will be clearly marked signs.

Option 1

Your family wants a Christmas tree and a day of entertainment.

Location: Village 1

Cost:

  • Entrance: $7/person (ages 3 and up)
  • Tree: $40 (all species, all sizes)

Included in the entrance fee is the unlimited use of:

  • Mini Train Rides
  • Pony Rides
  • Three-Towers Tree House
  • Sand Mountain
  • All Mazes
  • Broom Ball
  • Giant Sling Shot

  • Zip Slide
  • Jacob's Ladder
  • Giant Swing
  • Campfires
  • Horse and Wagon Rides
  • Petting Zoo
  • Family Portrait Tree

Also available, but not included in entrance fee:

Food and Beverages (chip wagon, kettle corn, marshmallows): various prices
Specialty Products (tinsmith, wreath and other decorations, chocolate): various prices

Option 2

Your family wants a day of entertainment, but no tree.

Location: Village 1

Cost:  Entrance: $7/person including tax (ages 3 and up)

See above for what is included and what is not included in the entrance fee.

Option 3

Your family wants a Christmas tree and perhaps a campfire to sit around with you family.

Location: Village 2

Cost:  Tree: $40 (all trees, all sizes)

This location provides you with a campfire for your family to sit at and enjoy.  There is a washroom at this location and we will shake and bale your tree as well.  However, there are no food vendors here, nor do we offer any activities.

Weekday Operating Procedures

All customers must come to Village 1.

If you come for a tree you will not be charged admission.   Once you have cut your tree, you are free to play in the village at your leisure at no extra charge (limited activities available).   A campfire will be built should you request one.   The employee on site will shake and bale your tree as well.

If you come just to play in the village you will be charged $7/person (ages 3 and up).

Please note that there are limited activities available during the weekdays due to the low volume of customers.   Available for your use are the mazes, the tree house, Sand Mountain, the petting zoo, Broom Ball and the Giant Sling Shot.   We will also build you a campfire should you request it.   There are no food vendors.

PD Days

When the neighbouring school boards have PD Days we offer some activities that are not normally offered during a weekday, such as cookie decorating, train rides and zip line rides.   Because of this, customers can be charged admission fees.

Pre-cut Trees

We offer a small, but good selection of pre-cut trees in the barn each year.   These trees are available during the week as well as on weekends.  The cost is still $40.   If you are interested in one, please ask a staff member when you arrive and he or she will assist you.

How to Pay

As mentioned above, we do not take any form of payment other than cash.

If you are going to Village 1, you will pay your entrance fee in the barn when you arrive.   You will pay for your tree when you have cut it and are either leaving for the day or wishing to take it out to your car.

If you are going to Village 2, you will pay the employees when you are leaving with your tree.
